Default rare weapons and the prices they cost

Hey i was just somewhat curious, Say like perfect tyrian q.7 and q.8 shields swords and axes, Would there price increase over time?

I wasn't sure because for mini pets you can dedicate them, however for weapons the only thing you can do is customize them which is basically the same thing. You can farm these rare weapons for the most part but cant farm the rare minis. So i guess my questions is do rare weapons increase in value over time?

You answered yourself there, mate. The only items that should increase in value over time are discontinued items that are rare. Players will eventually increase the number of rare weapons that can be sold on to other players. With the arrival of nightfall and the inscription system/modifiable shields, old skool perfect shields and weapons lost their value because people were now able to purchase essentialy just the skin and it's requirement.

Good example are the magmas shields. Previously extremely hard to ome by, and well modded ones required a fortune to obtain. But then nightfall came around and decided to make the skin more available and with the option to modify it. The same can be said for Eye of the North. It made some Tyrian only skins inscribable and also drove down prices of other skins by providing green weapon drops of the same skin (murakai's reaber is the best example, Stygian reavers are worthless now).

But r7 weapons are discontinued since they stopped dropping very early on, so they will retain their value but I don't think their price will increase only because they are more of a collectors piece since you can't instantly show off that the sword you're holding is a rare r7.

Hope this helps.

to answer your questions its all about the skin to be honest but yes q7&8's will definitely increase in time IMO but the important thing to note is if you hold on to them after all the collectors leave GW you lost most of the money the average player wont bother with paying obscene amounts of ectos for a q7 15^50 longsword when they like eblades and obby edges ect..

lets say....

minipets does not have high price cose they are 'rare' but cose ppl just want em...now u can compare freaking some midle-range mini price with rarest weapons atm in game... price will raise, but just purely for some lame demand, not cose its rare or something like that... last 1 year is pure example for comunity pushing prices up - mini oni 150e,month after 250e,month after 350e, 2 weeks!!! after 900e, and here we go now 1500e...pathetic is that if we use logic that there are more ded onis in game, price should go down, but not....its now 10x higher than before. so this is pure example of price pushing....

or take example of....hm,lets say some random q8 15^50 sword, phoenix blade....price was for ages hardly +20e,and just like that, boom and week after price is 100e. so....economy is lame, price is not = rarity.... and none cant guarantee that prices wont go down in month or two....

in the end it can/cant be that demand=price, and it can/cant be that rarity=price, economy in this game sucks more than ever....so somehow answer to your question does not exist
but,if i would have to chose one of this options- demand is just more powerful than ever before, but its not worth mentioning cose u cant base real item worth on just on that

Entirely wrong.

Perfect q7 and q8 inherent items increase in value every day. They no longer drop, and as more and more people leave, more and more of these items find themselves on inactive accounts.

All inscription items did is kill the value of q9 and above, while q7 and q8 items retain their value or even mature greatly over time.

Here are some examples of items currently found for auction in the High-End forum:

Zodiac Sword q8 +5 energy - 320e current bid.
Fellblade q8 15^50 - sales for 50-60e
Shinobi Blade q8 +5 energy - sold for 1800e
Celestial Sword q7 15^50 - current bid 1175e

All of the above items hold values far in excess of there incription counterparts, completely destroying the claims made in the quoted text above.

Fate Crusher's ideas of the way the market work are ignorant and misleading and can be dispelled with a few simple forum searches. Please ignore his post completely.

uh,here is the another example of price pushing on items....q8 +5e zodiac sword, pleikki sold the same month ago for ~140e....than someone tried to resell it for more than that and got poor bids in 150e range....and just look price now...meh

And wilderness,q8 still drop....dunno why ppl claim that they dont(maybe thats the reason for all this sick prices?!)

I made a thread a while back asking for evidence of q8 dropping (ie: screen shot of a max q8 drop in an inherent drop area with something on screen to prove it was an up to date image) and not one could be found.

I'm in communication with many long term farmers and traders and players in general who havn't seen or heard of a q8 dropping since inscriptions began.

The reason people claim they no longer drop is because no evidence can be shown to prove that they do. Please, show me something to refute this if you can.
